The 80's were an awesome decade - the music was great, the movies were awesome and computers were simple. So simple in fact, that they even came with manuals and schematics detailing their principles of operation in great detail. But that was not meant to last and now we have computers that are orders of magnitude more complex. So complex in fact, that explaining them in in a simple manual or schematic is nigh impossible.

That makes the job of a modern-day software developer, wanting to utilize hardware to its fullest capacity, much more challenging, requiring in-depth knowledge about many facets of modern computing.

And one of those facets is cache-aware programming. This talk provides an overview of the CPU cache, why it is important and how to tailor your code in a cache-friendly manner.
