GreenCoding - Let's build sustainable software to fight the climate change!

Every software consumes energy and this energy causes CO2 - during development and especially in operations. Currently, IT is responsible for more than 4% of global CO2 emissions - and its demand is increasing. GreenIT is not a new term and focuses primarily on hardware and data center optimization, today often in the cloud. This is not enough - a lot of the energy demand and emissions are reasoned by the underlying software. In this talk, I will provide awareness, tips & tooling for GreenCoding, as well as hands-on examples of how we as programmers and architects can reduce and measure the emissions of our software in our daily work.
