One of the biggest challenges in project and product development is creating consistent and scalable products with efficiency. Design Systems can help you to achieve this goal. Having a common foundation is at the heart of design systems. Therefore, we need to start by clarifying the purpose and structure of this foundation. Then I would like to go into more detail about the 5 steps that we can take to create a Design System of our own. I like to call these Convince, Research, Design, Craft, and Maintain. Finally, I would like to introduce you to a tool that I have used in the past to help me manage Design Systems: Storybook. It is the most important tool in my toolbox, next to Figma. I want to show you live in code how we set up Storybook and document our first component so you can see the benefits. This should lay the foundation for you to develop consistent and scalable products efficiently with Design Systems.
