Information

This talk covers the many ways to work for JSON, the lingua franca of exchanging and storing data these days. JSON, or JavaScript Object Notation, has been an integral part of modern app development, and it's hard to imagine a world without it. Modern RDBMS can store JSON in many ways, such as columns in tables in a relational data model or using the same popular APIs used by document databases. Attendees will learn about both ways of working with JSON in relational databases, and how to combine the best of both the relational and document-centric worlds in their applications. The audience will learn about JSON support in SQL, how to invoke web services from within the database, and how to combine the best of the relational model, in particular de-normalisation, with the ease of use of the document API for developing applications.
